ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

at our library/(mini)science center - a couple of our floor staff
spotted a bed bug crawling across the surface of one of the exhibits a
couple of weeks ago. Our health and safety officer was very emphatic
that there was A) not an infestation an B) a procedure in place. That is
immediate cleaning of that area and calling in the exterminator to treat
that area the next morning. Our space is not an agreeable arrangement of
cozy hideouts and timely, handy meals. no camp-ins.

The staff had very cleverly encased the little bug in wide transparent
tape. We were planning a floor activity around it for the afternoon.
They did their research and darn!, that sticky trapped vermin had
disappeared when they were ready to head out to meet the public! None
that we've seen since.
