The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is accepting applications until June 15 for grants funded under the Learning Labs in Libraries and Museums<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=27143956&msgid=464084&act=CWPE&c=278052&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.imls.gov%2Fabout%2Flearning_labs.aspx> program, a joint initiative of IMLS and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, managed by ASTC and the Urban Libraries Council (ULC). These grants will support the planning and designing of Learning Labs in libraries and museums throughout the country. The Labs are intended to engage middle- and high-school youth in mentor-led, interest-based, youth-centered, collaborative learning using digital and traditional media. Projects are expected to provide prototypes for the field and be based on current research about digital media and youth learning.
