The Cape bee pseudo-clones are parasitic in nature and move from healthy colony to healthy colony. As long as there are healthy colonies nearby, they will continue to exploit this resource. Authorities are still recommending destruction of infected hives as the chief remedy and various changes in management practices as control measures.
