>>Not really. We know that bees are hauled all over the US and that this
includes Africanized areas. >>
During the 2000's the State Inspector
was very big in testing programs in
this state.
Aggressive bees are sent to Penn State for
testing. Between 06 and 2010, I have sent
several samples, and inspectors have visited
to take samples and turned up negative for
AHB.
>>So, I gather we are in agreement?
I am reporting on the feral resurgence
here in PA because I believe it is of interest
to the list members.
Evidence from Penn State points towards
European honeybee genetics in the ferals
which are rebounding, and against AHB influence.
I hope that evidence would rule over speculation
on this list.
I know it is difficult for beekeepers from regions
which have no ferals, OR other management
practices to understand what is occurring
in other regions. Thats why I report on my
region, and leave others to report on their
own region.
I am simply reporting on my observations.
If anyone has a problem with my first hand
account of the feral resurgence here in SW
PA, I encourage them to contact Penn
State for facts, and hold the speculation
until you have gained more facts on the matter.
Best Wishes
Joe Waggle
SW Pennsylvania
