> @forbes attacks http://tinyurl.com/cq5rhlq
I find this to be a sad commentary on the state of journalism today. You expect this kind of thing from some of the wild-eyed environmental groups, but it’s maddening to see a prestigious outfit like Forbes throwing around statements like “bee colonies worldwide are simply vanishing”, “evidence … points to Bayer pesticides as A, if not THE causative agent behind CCD”, and -- my favorite -- “Your signature may be all that stands between bees and their extinction” -- !!!
But what’s actually funny about this is that the petition he’s pushing says it will be delivered at “the Bayer shareholder meeting in Germany tomorrow, Friday, March 26”. Not only is his article dated April 26, but March 26 this year was a Monday, and the last time March 26 fell on a Friday was in 2010!
It looks like the author has picked up a petition that’s been floating around on the internet for over two years, and taken its claims at face value. Which is not surprising given his own admission that he was one of those so-called journalists who earlier bought into the ridiculous assertion that CCD was caused by cell phones.
