ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

At the New England, visitors who are in wheelchairs get in for free because the top of the Giant Ocean Tank is not wheelchair accessible, which will most likely change in the coming months when construction is complete making the Giant Ocean tank accessible from the elevator. It is also free for visitors who are blind because the aquarium is a visual facility.
Thanks, Sarah

>Hello,
>
>I am researching other museums policies on free and/or discounted admissions related to people with disabilities and their aides.

>We regularly receive requests for free admission for an individual based solely on disability. We receive even more requests for free admission for people described as aides or caregivers to the visitor with the disability.

>Does your museum offer free or discounted admission to people based solely on their disability? Does it offer free admission to aides/companions?

>What factored in to your institution's decision?

>If your museum does not offer free or discounted admission, how are the box office staff instructed to respond to
requests for free admission based on a disability or the need for an aide?

>Thank you very much!
