Observed first 2 grandchildren - one born at hospital nursed about 3 x in
first 24, one born at home seemed to nurse for the first 24, LOL (neither
mom had any drugs). I think it just depends on the baby to a certain extent
and how available mom is STS. Babies usually seem to be awake for first
hour or 2 then a nice deep sleep for hours (that scares the nursery nurses
to death). Not sure if there is any research about the "typical" baby, esp
since hospital deliveries aren't "typical/normal". Pat in SNJ
