Eric thanks for sharing.  I would venture that the museums that we know and love may well be an anachronism of the 20th century and on a long road to retirement.   We tend to believe that they promote a set of values that inform and shape the learning experience more on faith than fact, when the fact is that best exhibits and exhibitions are but reflections of someone's personal experience of the world brought forth to share.  The facts, concepts and artifacts are but changeable touchstones for the posited experience, and of little relevance in the end.

There's lots to unpack in the Slate article.
