ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

As part of the NSF-funded Girls RISEnet project, Explora  will be hosting two half-day workshops on strategies for engaging girls - especially minority girls  - in STEM experiences. Part 1 of the workshops will focus on the ways in which gender and multicultural dynamics shape the ways in which educators and girls themselves perceive the opportunities for women in science.  Part 2 will focus on tools for designing and assessing girl-friendly environments and programs. The workshops will take place at Explora, in Albuquerque, NM.

These workshops are free of charge, and travel stipends of up to $500 are available.  To register for the workshops, please visit the event listings on the Girls RISEnet website and click "I'm Interested": http://girlsrisenet.org/calendar/list. If you have questions about the workshop, contact Kristin Leigh at [log in to unmask]  Questions about the travel stipend should be directed to Laura Huerta Migus at [log in to unmask]
