NOVA, located at WGBH in Boston, is the nation’s longest running and most respected primetime science series. NOVA has a new Education and Outreach-focused division that is developing and nurturing an educator community—expanding and deepening NOVA’s national reach to formal and informal education partners. This involves developing new methods for reaching and building community, designing innovative instructional programs and products, and establishing new strategic partnerships.

Position Overview
Under the direction of NOVA’s Director of Education, the outreach coordinator will be responsible for working closely with partners to develop outreach materials and deliver professional development to STEM educators in both formal and informal settings. The candidate will be responsible for managing communications with these partners for all assigned projects. In addition, the outreach coordinator will be responsible for managing NOVA’s national Science Café network, which entails coordinating communications with café organizers, maintaining the sciencecafes.org website, assisting with the development and promotion of NOVA Science Café resources, and hosting events.

Skills Required
Required skills/experience:
• 1-2 years work experience-preferably in a media-rich educational setting.
• Familiarity with National Science Standards/NGSS, Educational Curriculum and Instructional Technology development.
• Familiarity with social media tools—including Facebook and Twitter
• Experience in media-based educational resource design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Expressed interest in science education and communication
• Experienced public speaker/presenter, including via online webinars.
• Comfortable with presentation software such as PowerPoint or Keynote
• Able to multi-task in a deadline driven environment
• Proactive and a team player

 Desired skills/experience:
• Experience conducting professional development sessions.
• Classroom teaching experience in a STEM subject.
