Hi Sheri.
We have used melted vegetal fat and then solidified again, if you donīt melt it, it looks very white and fake, but after melting, it turns yelowish which makes it look more natural. But be careful when handle the melted fat, it gets very very hot and takes long time to loose heat.

Regards.

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend materials/substances to use to illustrate fat, specifically fat in food (or body fat). This material will be behind acrylic, so there will be no chance of visitors touching it.
I know I've been displays like this at science centers, but wasn't sure what the actual gelatinous substance was.

Many thanks in advance,
Sheri
