I'd be really surprised at any doctor seeing a "whole lot" of exclusively
breastfed babies let alone a whole lof of EBF infants with a particular
condition...how does she define exclusively breastfed?? Here in Australia
the likely percentage of EBF infants to six months is under 5% (and probably
quite a bit lower)- we don't really know because data is not collected
frequently or accurately.

Subject: increase in enterocolitis incidence?

I have been approached by an RD at a WIC clinic that has been speaking to an
Pediatrician of that local WIC program. The pediatrician is seeing a "whole
lot" of exclusively breastfeeding infants presenting with gross blood in
their stools...Dx=enterocolitis when she refers them to GI doctors for
further evaluation.
