Have one. The problem I see with all of these compressing pumps is they feel pretty good, BUT when babies swallow vacuum typically decreases slightly and the diameter increases causing less compression of the nipple. In these pumps it works opposite - the diameter DECREASES and the suction INCREASES. This can cause compression of the ducts as they are expanding with milk flow as the milk is pushed forward by milk ejection. That seems to be "ok" when breasts are very full, engorged, but not so with softer, less full breasts.

Subject: Re: Need experience with new pump

My daughter purchased and has compared this pump to her Medela Pump-in-Style. She's been having issues with low milk supply d/t gastric bypass sx. She likes the feel of the Simplisse but gets more milk with the Medela. The Simplisse might be better for a mom with a full supply. Anyone else had first hand experience with this pump? I saw it at a conference and loved the concept. Carol Leonard, RNC, IBCLC
