I have the same problem here.

My answer is that formula is PROVEN to be harmful to babies, and pasteurized
donor milk is not.

I have researched this a LOT lately because I had a nephew born at 39 weeks
and 2 pounds (severely growth retarded) on Jan 25th, his mom has severely
hypoplastic breasts and made one ounce maximum of milk a day for 6 weeks. I
felt strongly he needed breastmilk, but he was born in a hospital that had
never used it. There is not much research on the clinical use of banked
milk...there are a few studies that it protects against NEC (a dangerous
bowel problem of premature babies) and that premies do not grow as fast if
it is not fortified.

Another idea is to show them a list of what is in donor milk vs
formula...that it is much more than "food".

Good luck. Change is HARD.
