There are small, brass, dome-shaped, one-piece buttons with soldered "eye loop" shanks recovered in feature association with U.S. artillery regiments (1st and 3rd) foliated sript "A" buttons (1813-1814), a U.S. general service button(1808-ca. 1845), and other War of 1812 U.S. military artifacts from the Amos Spafford farmhouse (33Wo50) 1810 to 1830 in Ohio. While these are not like yours, I believe them to be what was known as "bullet" buttons manufactured during the war from 1813-1814. If it turns out I am not correct, yours may well be this type of button.
