Thought you all might enjoy this read from the NYT on QR codes at
Fashion Week- actually, it covers a wide use of them in museums,
commercial, TV, fashion, advertising and so on:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/22/fashion/qr-codes-provide-information-when-scanned.html

With regards to Museums:

"It could be a conversationalist’s nightmare, but a multi-tasker’s
dream. As Ms. Lewis of the QR Media Group put it: “Who has time to
give out all of that information?”

and

"Many people, however, ignore the codes. So far, QR codes are mainly
scanned by men (60.5 percent of QR code scanners) with a household
income of $100,000 or more..."

I think they're great and can be used well- except for the BIG fact
that not everyone has one which creates a digital divide in museums.

They are soon going to be as ubiquitous as a bar code, but I can't
read that with my phone. And I'm not sure I want to.
