There is no reason to withhold breastfeeding if mom's breastmilk culture 
is + for MRSA, just as we don't withhold nursing if the culture is + for 
a staph that is methacillin sensitive.
Ask the doctor-What is the difference if the bacteria is MRSA or MSSA? 
IF the doctor thinks MRSA is more virulent or something like that, then 
ask the doctor-Isn't it likely that the baby  is already colonized with 
this? Doctors need to think.
If there is frank stringy pus in the milk, then I usually hold off on 
nursing until the pus clears up. This is different that the little 
nipple wounds that have sticky discharge.
