Aloha folks,

I am currently investigating the use of IPads and IClickers as an onsite Museum educational program evaluation tool.

At present I am looking into the efficiency of having a web-based survey site such as Zoomerang or Survey Monkey in addition to any potential apps which evaluations could be launched on using an IPad. Having an electronic system as opposed to paper allows a better instantaneous summary of both qualitative and quantitative data, as people tend to write much more succinctly and there are less issues with misunderstanding handwriting.

However, I have found that we have only had an average of 20% return on Zoomerang evals, where individuals (teachers and adult members of public) surveyed had their email addresses collected and the link to the site was sent through to them to fill out after their visit. I hope to achieve a much better return by having the evaluation filled out onsite electronically with volunteers facilitating the IPad. I am also looking into other web-based evaluation sites such as Survey Monkey.

It would be great to hear thoughts and feedback from any other organizations that have or are looking to use either the IPad or something similar for onsite evaluations as well as the web-based evaluation sites or an appropriate App.

In addition, I am exploring using the I-Clicker in conjunction with the I-Pad or separately for pre and post program testing of students quantitatively. Any input on this would also be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to hearing from you all soon!

Cheers

Amber
