Gene...why 'chisel' the wax to get it into smaller pieces?

Put a large block in an old pillow case or even a 2 mil plastic bag.  Pick
up to chest height.  Throw down onto blacktop or concrete...presto, nice
small blocks to melt further.  Better yet, find a bollard and whack the
large block against it...same result.
