If you are looking for traveling exhibitions specifically, you might want to call or write Mac West at Informal Learning Experiences: 202-362-5823 or [log in to unmask] ILE maintains a database of traveling exhibitions and Mac is perhaps the best informed person in the field about them -- so he might know of evaluation studies.

You might also try to identify some traveling exhibitions by title and then look up the evaluation for that exhibition. For example, there is an extensive evaluation of Darkened Waters, a traveling exhibition that was funded by NSF and that toured many museums a few years ago.

You should get in touch with Joseph Jones at AAA. He's attached to a
fabulous traveling exhibit called Race. He may have some eval data.
I've copied him on this email so you have his contact information (Hi
Joseph!).

I checked the Informal Science website and did not come up with any
evaluations of traveling science programs. Does anyone know if any
formative or summative evaluations exist?
