We plan to begin an evaluation of our field trip program.  The intended impact of our field trip program is that students have an increased understanding of the process of science and of grade level science content.

In the first phase of evaluation (this fall), we will be focused on process rather than outcomes in our evaluation.  During this time, we will try to understand teachers' experiences before and during an onsite visit.  I am looking for existing instruments (surveys, interview protocols, etc.) that might be mined and customized for our immediate and future purposes.

Our initial study (this fall) will be guided by the questions:
To what extent are teachers satisfied with on-site experiences at our science center?
How can science center experiences be improved?

Our primary method of data collection will be an online survey completed by teachers after their field trip visit.

I know the world of field trip evaluation is vast and varied.  Any and all insights, comments, and instruments are very much appreciated!
