Many thanks to Carlo Maiolini of the Museo Tridentino di Scienze Naturali in Trento, Italy, for contributing the 100th case study to ExhibitFiles earlier this week (about his exhibition Avatar) – and to Jeff Crewe of the Mystic Seaport Museum for his review of Out on a Limb, at the Morris Arboretum. The contributions of all of the members are making the site into a rich and growing resource for the exhibits field. It’s easy to join; once you’re a member, you can post comments, add tags to other posts, and contribute your own case studies and reviews.
Between now and the end of October, we’re also inviting members to contribute a case study or review of an exhibit that was developed by Frank Oppenheimer, or in his spirit. (Tom Nielsen’s already posted the first, about soap bubbles.) We’ll award one of the contributors with a copy of KC Cole’s new biography of Frank Oppenheimer during the October 30 ExhibitFiles Happy Hour in Fort Worth. KC will be there in person to sign a copy and help celebrate. There’s more inspiration in the writings of Frank Oppenheimer on the Exploratorium’s website: http://www.exploratorium.edu/frank/
Best,
Wendy
