I have to say that the practice of "pit to distress" is NOT endorsed by
ACOG or AWHONN (the physician and nurse professional groups for maternal
care).  Anyone that runs into this practice is observing a method for
labor induction / augmentation that is not an endorsed or approved way
to manage patients and certainly goes against evidence based practice.
