I can't speak to always/never/most, but I and several moms in my
circle of mom-friends have the Mirena, and none of us saw a drop in
supply. In fact, one mom who had a breast reduction surgery continued
to increase her supply, up to about 70% nursing / 30% AIM. We each
got it around 2-4 months postpartum, so the supply was
well-established prior to the insertion.

HTH,
Michelle

I know what local doctors and the package inserts say, but I would like to hear everyone's thoughts. I worked with one LC who said that they almost always destroy milk supply and another LC tell me that they are an ideal form of birth control for nursing mothers who do not want another pregnancy (and may not be willing to follow the guidelines of natural family planning).
