PHYSICAL ANTHROPOLOGY - Part-Time Instructor



POSITION                                           Part-time Instructor for Physical Anthropology.  Part-time one semester appointment for Fall 2009.



RESPONSIBILITIES                       Primary responsibilities are to teach Physical Anthropology lectures three times per week (MWF 8:00 am - 8:50 am is the currently scheduled time, but some flexibility is available to fit with Instructor's needs)  Basic responsibilities include:  providing lecture and discussion of basic concepts in physical anthropology; writing and grading exams over course material; assigning and grading homework or other course projects; answering questions and guiding students to a greater understanding of anthropological principles and scientific inquiry; communicating with department chair regarding assessment policies; and providing assessment data to the department chair.



QUALIFICATIONS                          Minimum M.S. in Physical Anthropology is required.  A Ph.D. in would be preferred.  Teaching experience at the college level is very helpful.



SALARY                                               Salary at part-time instructor per-credit-hour rate plus mileage allowance for commuting.



DEPARTMENT                                 This position is responsible to the Social Work Department but in relationship to the Chemistry/Biology and Criminal Justice Departments.    The course in this position is required for the forensic science majors.  It is an elective course for the criminal justice and chemistry majors.
