ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I represent a fledging science center (6 months old) and have just been
asked to provide an environmental scan for an upcoming planning/retreat
meeting this weekend (July 12, 2008). Can anyone recommend resources for
the following?

10 trends of science centers (positive and negative)
- political
- social
- regulatory
- economic

The Children's Science Center Industry:
What are the top three revenue generators in our industry?
Where does the money come from?
Lobbying - how it is done
What research firms have been used in this industry in strategic planning
process?
Tracking visitation and customer satisfaction
Performance measurement
Best Practices

Not much time for me to gather this information! If I can provide only
bullet points for future research, I will be happy. Any suggestions will be
greatly appreciated.
