All four of my sons have degrees of TT. My oldest and youngest were
clipped. My middle two did not require it though as their frenulums are
very very stretchy. My oldest boy lost 1 ounce shy of 2 pounds after
delivery. With the help of a FANTASTIC IBCLC in Monterey, CA we went on to
nurse until he was 15.5 months old (he self weaned). My youngest was
thriving but his suck style was severely hurting me. I chose to have him
clipped.
My DH was TT, his mother was TT ( so much so she could not lick an ice cream
cone), my dad was TT and others in the family I have heard as well.
