What I'm trying to get at is it is not OK for hospitals to normalise formula feeding. I would not deliver my precious milk to a 'formula room'; but perhaps I would deliver it to a 'milk room'. More appropriately I would keep it in a small fridge or freezer at my child' bedside (where the chance of it being mixed up with something else is minimal)
I bet delivering their breastmilk to the 'formula room' makes breastfeeding mothers feel like aliens - and also offers a tacit imprimatur to formula feeding (clearly the hospital expects all (or at least the vast majority) of it's patients to be formula fed; of course we know that it is often because the formula made them sick but no one ever tells the mothers that)- it might even suggest to them that it is only a matter of time until they will be formula feeding.
