The CPS authorities in my state appear to have a strict no co-sleeping policy regardless of age of child.  Recently,  while at a training, I  challenged two CPS drs on this, mentioning breastfeeding specifically,  and while one did acknowledge that there is a lot of controversy, both in terms of culture and BF,  he said we have the AAP statement and that is what they have to go by. (I did write a lot on my evaluation form on this issue, and was thanked by someone afterwards about bringing this up.)
