My sister, who's a public health nurse, has a mom she's seeing with a 7 month
old son (Mom gave permission for me to post here). Mom had been
breastfeeding and giving baby solids. A couple of weeks ago, baby started
having diarrhea, bloody stools and refusing solid foods. They thought is was a
virus, but when it didn't resolve, Doctor had mom stop breastfeeding (this was
last Wed). By the weekend, baby had no more symptoms and started eating
solids again. Mom has been pumping, as she hopes to resume BF. Her milk is
self-described a mint green. She has taken it to 3 Doctors who had no idea
what would cause that, but did find it odd. She is not eating a lot of green
veggies and nothing about her diet has changed recently. She did begin
Zoloft about 2 months ago. Mom is not experiencing any pain in her breasts
and has no other symptoms.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?
I recommended that she have BM tested.
Thanks for your help!!!
Amy
