>  About 30-50 million spores are in the gut of a bee when infection is fully developed (Bailey and Ball, 1991) although 180 million spores per bee have been reported.

So one crushed bee could liberate enough spores to provide an
infective dose for 2 to 9 million bees or about 100 colonies
