When I was a hospital LC, I had a lab coat, which I washed once a week. I
didn't do "dirty" jobs that would have involved wearing scrubs. Currently I
am a nurse practitioner. I go to the hospital nursery to check new babies.
I usually check the baby at the mom's bedside. I wear my street clothes as
to all the other NPs/Drs there to check babies and the myriad of visitors.
The main point of infection control is careful HANDWASHING!!!! Pat in SNJ
