Bill,

I am the Manager of Program Services for the Girl Scout Council of the
Nation's Capital, which serves the 55,000 Girl Scouts in the DC
Metropolitan region. We have a huge emphasis on STEM programming at our
council, and have two full-time staff who work on STEM and environmental
programming. Many of our grant-funded programs have a STEM focus, and we
also have long-standing partnerships with community organizations like
the National Air and Space Museum, where we hold an annual event that
serves approximately 2500-3000 Girl Scouts and family members. Our
emphasis on STEM is shared by our national organization, Girl Scouts of
the USA, which has just released some new program materials focusing on
in-depth environmental curricula.

I would be very happy to sit down with you and share some of our
successes on the council level, and to give you background on national
programs, badges and curricula.

Feel free to get in touch.

Hi, everyone -

I know that the topic of scout badges has been discussed many times and
at length on this list (both from memory and from a recent review of the
archives at http://community.lsoft.com/scripts/WA-LSOFTDONATIONS.exe).

However, I am unaware of any summaries of what the field has learned, of
exemplary programs, etc.

Can anyone point me in the direction of such a summary, or of annual
reports, evaluations, etc. of individual programs?

Thanks,

Bill
