ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
As part of our MLK Day program, we want to do a display of people who were told they couldn't be a scientist/engineer/inventor because they were the "wrong" color/gender/religion/ethnicity/nationality/etc, and then went on to be the first one to do it. For example, Guy Bluford was the first African-American astronaut.
So, do you have any favorite First people? Please share!
thanks,
AD

"The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not "Eureka!" (I found it!) but "That's funny..." " --Isaac Asimov
