Hi,
Gyroscope has been using Ning for museum development projects for the
last couple of years. In one case, we've been using it for a core new
museum project team to park and discuss project-related documents,
images, etc. In another case, there is a museum with a board that has
26 members around the world. Since they all have various interests and
timezones, Ning was a great way to collect it all, using Groups to
focus the users.
I've used Basecamp, Wikis and experimented with OneHub, but Ning
seemed easier from a lot of vantage points (and less expensive or
free, if you don't mind ads). There's also Backpack from the folks at
Basecamp, but I haven't tried it yet.
I set some of the sites up, so feel free to contact me directly if
you'd like more info about what's working, etc.
Best,
Maria Mortati
