Another option to the sling idea is supporting the breast from below.
While I am not a huge fan of BF gadgets, there is a company that makes
"breast support pillows", http://utterlyyours.com/index.html
I picked up one of their pillows at a BF conference raffle. I actually have
tried it out a few times. After nursing three babies (still am BF) I have
pendulous J cup breasts...sorry for too much info, just wanted you to see
the size range the product can work for. The pillow does a great job lifting
the breast and not getting in the way of the areola or the underside of the
areola.
For a mother that is drawn to gadgets this might be helpful. However I find
most babies, when their hands are left free, will grab and shape the breast
on their own. Feeding in prone also allows for excellent positioning with
large breasts and it works well for me.
