Myself and one of my daughters doubled our birth weights at one year of
age, not 6 months.  We are both now very average and a little over
weight.
When a Peds doc gave me a hard time about my daughter, a friend in LLL
suggested adding butter to her cereal.   It worked very well.  She
gained, the doc was happy, and I switched clinics.  I got a petite
pediatrician who had 3 petite sons.  No more problem with my daughter's
weight pattern!
