Thank you Rachel for reminding us that there are precautions to take with
much of what we suggest regarding infant feeding.  :-)

In my post, I did not think to mention any of the risks involved in anything
other than donor milk from a milk bank.  Yes, there might be risks even with
feeding at mom's breast or ingesting her expressed milk if she has a
situation that would indicate a hazard to the baby; and the same could be
said for milk from someone other than the infant's mom.  There is always
more to think about.  However, after checking for the safety of the mom's
milk or another woman's milk, the ABM would still be the sixth choice.
Unfortunately, in many cultures, it is the first or second choice
recommended by many healthcare providers.
