A pediatrician in my area is trying to find an answer to the question below. If
anyone on the LACTNET list has a good reference, please e-mail me privately
to [log in to unmask] so that I can help with her research. Thanks! (read
her message below):

"I am a pediatrician and I specialize in Travel Medicine. I am collaborating with
colleagues at Harvard on a paper addressing the breastfeeding traveler.

I have been specifically searching for resources on questions of the
immune response to vaccines given to the breastfeeding mother. I
have scoured the literature and consulted many resources, but find
little in the area of the immune system of the woman who is
breastfeeding. If you have any resources to point me toward, I would
greatly appreciate them. I am suspecting that the answers to the
questions on this topic are not known, as the area is of interest to
a small group. As women travel, however, we are finding this an area
of increased interest and look to supplant our advice with good
science."
