The next deadline for submissions to The Bead Forum, the biannual
newsletter of the Society of Bead Researchers, is March 1, 2009. With
this next issue I'll be taking on the role of newsletter editor.

I'd like to thank Christopher DeCorse for agreeing to serve as editor
for the past year, and to thank Smoke Pfeiffer for serving as editor for
the preceding seven years.

Please consider submitting research notes, short articles (up to five
pages in length), book announcements, information on bead exhibitions,
information on conferences and symposia, and requests for information.
Submissions on ethnographic and archaeological beads, and on beads from
historic and prehistoric time periods are very welcome. Thanks to the
efforts of Alice Scherer, the Bead Forum is now available
electronically, so color images are especially encouraged. Longer
articles suitable for the journal Beads should be submitted to journal
editor Karlis Karklins ([log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> ) for
consideration.

Electronic submissions should be in Word for Windows 6.0 or later, or
RTF (Rich Text Format) with no embedded sub-programs such as "End
Notes". References cited should be in American Antiquity format
(http://www.saa.org/publications/styleGuide/styleGuide.pdf
<http://www.saa.org/publications/styleGuide/styleGuide.pdf> ).

Send electronic submissions (via email or disk) to The Bead Forum
