Jeff - 
The video resolution will still be standard.  I would suggest playing around
with the various "picture mode" options, if available (standard, dynamic,
movie, etc.).  This helps mitigate any special effects in the video from
seeming fake.  This is just from experience at home - hope it helps.

We're installing a 37" flat screen for at a site - but the video is  
standard def... (16:9 anamorphic, though...)  my question is, even if  
the plasma is compatible with a 480i signal, which it is, what will  
the picture quality be like?  like standard def?  or will it have  
some less than standard appearance....

sorry for the 'dumb' question, but thought it was better than  
reinventing the wheel....
