As for off the beaten path, I think he recorded several Scriabin
symphonies with the Philadelphia orchestra and they were beautiful.
Muti as I recall, didn't like the glad handing and cocktail talks that
went with being music director of a U.S. orchestra.  I wonder what made
him take Chicago at this point in his career?
