My very good friend nursed my then 4 month old while I ran an errand with my older child. That same child, at 18 months, started to nurse on another friend (whose breast was out and available as her 18 month old had just finished nursing). It was rather amusing. Janene opened her mouth to nurse, got about 1/4 of an inch away from latching on, then looked at me to see my reaction, I smiled, she looked at my friend, who also smiled, then Janene giggled and walked off. Like it was a very funny joke to nurse from someone other than mommy.

I have never nursed another's child, but I look forward to nursing my grandchildren one day.
