"Are there any studies out there that show the problems with using the 25% sucrose solutions to assist with latch on? I am working with a new staff that uses it for multiple reasons, many of which are not associated with pain. I have been discouraging this but am finding the need for the research to back it up."

Since they are using an intervention, shouldn't the burden be on the staff to show evidence to back up their use of the product? Why is it always the non-use of an intervention that seems to "need" evidence to back it up????
