This family needs a lactation consultation as soon as possible. Mother's
supply needs to be evaluated with test weights plus post feed pumping etc.
She has been treated for thrush with everything and is still having pain.
This may mean that she does not or did not have yeast. Baby's who are hungry
when there is a poor milk flow (due to low supply) often pull and tug at the
breasts causing trauma. In any event a full evaluation is needed. It is
unfair to leave this poor mother in so much pain. The fact that her baby is
not gaining well is also of concern and must be very disheartening for this
mother. Ann Anderson
