What I see is usually a fat, unhappy, gassy baby, some reflux sort of
things. When I ask Mom about how she nurses, it is usually both sides,
briefly. I explain how she is doing such a wonderful job, making enough
milk for 2 or more and then explain how to slow down (tamp down) the supply
a bit. Usually after a few days of scheduling each breast for x hours the
problem resolves, the brain gets the message to calm down the supply and I
don't get any more complaints about a fussy baby.

I do muse about how 40 years ago it was always moms with "not enough" milk.
and now we have actually swung the other way and deal with moms with "too
much" milk. But I do think it is much easier to calm the supply down than
build a supply up, so I don't complain too much :-)

Part of my philosophy stems from having what I now realize was an oversupply
problem with my 4th baby. One of those wish I had known then what I know
now situations :-)
