Just another version of this idea - could it just be an age thing? One of my cousins asked me recently if I blow dry my hair (no - I've had long straight hair most of my life). The reason she asked is because her straight hair has recently started curling - she used to blow dry her hair (thereby straightening it, unknownly) and when she stopped noticed her hair was now curly when it had always been straight. She is in her late 30's and never had children (so isn't pregnancy/breastfeeding related). I think some people have both genes (curly hair and straight hair) and after some years the other one takes over. Just my little theory from noticing some of my female relatives.
