I'm in touch with a first time mother who is on bed-rest for pre-term
labour. Prior to the scare that put her in bed at 32 weeks, she's now
at 33+6 weeks, she was harvesting the large amounts of colostrum and
actual milk her breasts were producing.

She's now stopped collecting, or handling her nipples in any way, but is
experiencing several let downs a day, accompanied with burning pins and
needles sensations along her breast, which is driving her crazy.

Can anyone suggest remedies that would help her cope with the early milk
production, but not endanger either her eventual supply, or the pre-term
labour?

I was wondering if savoy cabbage would give her some relief, but I've
not suggested it as I've no idea if this would, indeed, compromise her
eventual supply? She's in the USA (which may be relevant on what's
available).

Many thanks

Morgan Gallagher
