re-posted from Council of Texas Archeologists list (this the position recently vacated by Brett Cruse who took the archaeologist position with the new historic parks division of THC ... the position isn't a strictly research-only plum, but it's far from all bureaucratic drudgery ... it afforded Brett the platform to devote substantial field survey, historic research, and publication efforts to the historic Red River Wars sites, the terminal campaign against the Comanche and plains Indians, mainly in the Texas Panhandle)
