TO avoid confusion, let me elaborate.  The mice in question were
problematic beneath the floors of the 1970s-1980s mainframe computers.

I've had the occasional mouse in my office over the years (they usually 
move indoors in October), but never had gnawed computer wires.  Thank 
goodness, since I've had enough other computer troubles.
